    Period Underwear FAQ

    How does period underwear work?

Period and incontinence underwear are a reusable product designed to absorb your menstrual flow and prevent leaks, keeping you dry and comfortable. They provide a sustainable alternative to disposable products. VOXAPOD period underwear are designed in a range of absorbencies, from light to heavy, to support you through every stage of your flow.

What material are the organic cotton period underwear made out of?

Skin Layer and Outer Layer: 95% organic cotton, 5% spandex.
    Patented gusset:
    2nd Layer (Liquid storage) - 80% polyester + 20% nylon (microfiber)
    3rd Layer (Leak-proof) - TPU 100% polyester.

NO PFAS - fabrics used are OEKO-TEX standard 100 certified and factory is GOTS and ISO 9001 certified

How much can these period underwear absorb?

They will absorb 30 mls of fluid or about 3 regular tampons worth.

How long can I wear period underwear?

They may be worn for up to 24 hours, depending on the absorbency levels and your flow. Generally, it is recommended to change your period underwear every 10-12 hours to avoid odor or leakage. Of course, you can change them more frequently if desired. Depending on care and frequency of use, one pair can last up to 2-5 years.

How do I wash and care for period underwear?

You can wash these undies like your others, in cold water or by hand. Some prefer to hand rinse in cold water after use and before washing. Lay flat or hang to dry. Keep it simple – do not tumble dry, bleach, use fabric softner, dry clean, or iron.

How do I choose my period underwear size?

Use the size guide on this product page and be sure to measure at the widest part of your lower hips for the best fit.

Can I wear period underwear for incontinence or as backup with a pad, tampon, menstrual cup or disc?

    Yes, yes, and yes!

How many pairs of period underwear do I need?

This depends on how heavy your flow is and how frequently you do laundry. Most prefer to have 1-2 pairs for each day of the cycle.

    Great quality

I'm a runner and I've struggled finding the right menstrual product. I don't want to put a cup up there but I'm also tired of tampons.

I needed something comfortable that I could trust, I didn't want to check for leaks every two seconds. I bought the two pack and was happily surprised. No leaks and they did not ride up or smell at all.

Easy to wash and didn't make a mess, I definitely recommend this for other runners and to my hiking friends.

    Doesn't cut my inner thigh

The material is really soft and it fits me perfectly. I have a medium flow and I was able to wear these all day at work even on my heavy day.

    Perfect for spotting!

My periods are kind of irregular and even though I love my cup I get tired of it by the end of my period. These are perfect for spotting or when you don't want to be bothered with tampons, pads or cups.

I wore these on my heaviest day, with no tampon or cup for about 10 hours, probably could have gone longer but I was home by then. I almost forgot about my period and I had no leaks at all!

It's my first time using period undies and I really love them! I can finally sleep in without worrying about leaks on my bedding.
